Best time to visit Brasília

Brazil · 20-year averages

Brasília is a city of two halves. June scores 98 and October scores 50 — a 48-point swing, which is the difference between a holiday and an endurance test. The month you pick matters more here than almost anywhere. The good window runs May to July — 3 months within ten points of the best.

September is the warmest month at 31.8 °C and March the coolest at 25.7 °C — a 6.1 °C spread across the year. Around 69 days a year top 30 °C, concentrated in September and the months either side.

There is a real wet season here. January, February, March, November and December carry the rain — up to 25 wet days in a month — while May to September drop as low as 0. That 25-day gap is the biggest single difference between a good month and a bad one in Brasília, and it moves further than the temperature does.

Daylight barely moves: about 13.1 hours whatever the month, which removes one variable from the decision entirely.

The three strongest months are June, July, May. The one to think twice about is October. Each month below has its own page with rainfall reliability, extremes, daylight and crowd levels.
