Best time to visit Medellín

Colombia · 20-year averages

Medellín has no real season. The best month scores 67 and the worst 65, a spread of just 2 points, so the honest answer to "when should I go" is whenever the flights are cheapest. The good window runs January to December — 12 months within ten points of the best.

February is the warmest month at 25.5 °C and November the coolest at 23.6 °C — a 1.9 °C spread across the year. It never reaches 30 °C in an average year, which takes heat off the list of reasons to avoid any particular month.

There is a real wet season here. May, October and November carry the rain — up to 27 wet days in a month — while January to February drop as low as 18. That 9-day gap is the biggest single difference between a good month and a bad one in Medellín, and it moves further than the temperature does.

Daylight barely moves: about 12.5 hours whatever the month, which removes one variable from the decision entirely.

The three strongest months are February, January, March. The one to think twice about is December. Each month below has its own page with rainfall reliability, extremes, daylight and crowd levels.
