Best time to visit Lima

Lima has no real season. The best month scores 94 and the worst 81, a spread of just 13 points, so the honest answer to "when should I go" is whenever the flights are cheapest. 10 of the twelve months sit within ten points of the best, so there is more than one right answer.

March is the warmest month at 30.8 °C and July the coolest at 28.4 °C — a 2.4 °C spread across the year. Around 114 days a year top 30 °C, concentrated in March and the months either side.

Rain is spread evenly through the year — between 0 and 1 wet days in every month — so there is no dry season to aim for and no wet one to dodge. Whatever you plan, the odds of rain are much the same.

The sea is comfortable for swimming in January to March — 22.7 °C at its warmest against 16.6 °C at its coldest. The water peaks a month or two after the air does, so the best swimming falls later in the year than the best weather. Daylight barely moves: about 12.8 hours whatever the month, which removes one variable from the decision entirely.
